Scared Eyes is a collection of ten stories bound by a common thread. The common thread is the supernatural content of the stories.
The author presents a diverse panorama of settings, from urban city malls to the old house of a rural zamindar, and a vast sweep of time, from pre-independence days to a modern day city. Traversing this background are a milieu of characters, from poacher to law-officer and from faith healer to frightened housewife.
These are not mere ghost stories meant to give the amusement of safe fear. Though the elements of fear and horror are dispersed through all the ten tales, the storytelling goes beyond mere thrill as it explores the psyche of myriad characters responding to the supernatural.
The breathless climax to each story takes the mysteries to their own conclusion.
